Arrow Buddy
The Arrow “Buddy” was inspired by the iconic recycling symbol to make the sustainability theme instantly recognisable.
Reimagined as warrior-like guides in Eco-Warriors, they add a playful and adventurous touch to the game.
This project explores sustainability within the context of Winchester, drawing from both our personal observations and the city’s historical and urban structure. Recognising that long-term environmental change begins with education, the proposal focuses on introducing sustainability to young primary school children through interactive, game-based learning. By identifying key environmental challenges specific to Winchester, the project aims to address local issues while cultivating environmental awareness and responsibility from an early age.

An AR-based experience designed to transform environmental clean-up into an engaging and adventurous experience. Developed as a UI/UX and game design project, the concept encourages users to explore Winchester through an interactive map that identifies pollution hotspots. Players launch the AR feature to complete clean-up missions in real-world locations, turning action into impact. Through gameplay, users gain eco-facts and collect points, creating a system where they not only clean up but also learn and earn — fostering environmental awareness in a fun and meaningful way.

With Winchester situated along the River Itchen, we created a character that represents both water health and local wildlife.
Inspired by the river’s chalk stream and waterfowl, the duck symbolises the importance of clean water in a cute and approachable way.
Personified nature through a cute, approachable tree character to encourage empathy and sustainable behaviour.
By giving nature a friendly face, we hope children will see it as a friend to care for and respect, while understanding how the environment cares for them in return.
After creating the main assets, we developed a branding board to consolidate the visual direction of the game. It serves as a reference for the team, ensuring consistency in aesthetics, typography, and overall design, resulting in a cohesive and professional final outcome.
We designed a parallax background to add depth and dimension to the game, creating a more dynamic and immersive experience through layered movement. Inspired by Winchester’s landscape, the background features iconic landmarks such as the Cathedral and city centre, strengthening the game’s local identity. By reflecting familiar surroundings, we aim to foster community pride while encouraging children to care for their environment.
